UNLOCKING THE SCIENCE OF
SOUND HEALING & THERAPY
Whether you know it or not, you’ve already experienced the power of vibrational frequency. It can come in the form of a favorite song that sets your mind at ease, or in the pitter-patter of rain that lulls your body to rest. Alternatively, it can be the shrill car alarm that stiffens your spine, or a high-pitched scream that sends a wave of panic through your senses.
Sound therapy is a form of healing meditation that directs vibration, energy, and sound in alignment with your body to offer the gift of relief. Just as meditation is a useful tool in maintaining inner peace in the face of daily anxieties and looming worries, vibrational hertz therapy commands a healing power adaptable to one’s particular formula for balance.
SOUNDBODY clients have sought alleviation for a vast array of concerns and ailments, including anxiety, stress, depression, PTSD, trauma, and physical pain. There is no single reason to seek this modality except to discover your path toward mind-body connection and relief. Equipped with the tools of Tibetan singing bowls and crystal alchemy bowls, sound practitioner Kristen Lund creates a personalized sound therapy that best serves the client’s needs and life experience.
THE BOWLS
Kristen’s tools for this practice consist of hand made Tibetan singing bowls and crystal alchemy bowls. The bowls can be manipulated to produce certain frequencies of sound, in turn influencing human brainwaves and, depending on the frequency used, stimulating psychiatric and physical healing.
Each bowl has a note corresponding to the seven chakras. Tibetan Singing Bowls, dating back to the time of Buddha, are powerful tools to facilitate and amplify meditation. The Crystal Alchemy Bowls often contain various metals, minerals, and gemstones, melted at 3,000 degrees and welded into the shape of a bowl. The sonic resonance helps establish a mind-body connection that improves health and assists with healthy cell turnover.
BENEFITS OF SOUND THERAPY
MENTAL WELL-BEING
Sound therapy is an excellent tool for quieting the mind and improving thought processes. Studies have linked this modality to improvements in tension and negative moods, and it can be used in the treatment of stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions.
While on the table, clients are put into a state of deep relaxation, somewhere between asleep and awake. It is okay to fall asleep during the session. The frequencies are specifically activating your theta brain wave. In this state, brain scans have shown patients processing very high amplitudes of energy.
IMMUNITY BOOST
Certain vibrational frequencies can increase antibodies that help the body develop a stronger, more effective immune system.
NEURAL STIMULATION
Some studies have linked vibrational hertz therapy to neural responses that fight symptoms of dementia, in turn enriching the brain waves and improving memory.
IMPROVED SLEEP
Sound therapy can benefit both short-term and chronic insomnia. This modality can bring the mind to a state of calm while still engaging parts of the brain that would otherwise be distracted by mental agitation. The therapy can help clients to experience a deeper, more restful sleep.
PHYSICAL PAIN RELEASE
Physical pain reduction is a common result of sound therapy. This can manifest in improved blood pressure and heart rate, making it an excellent tool for physical rehabilitation and chronic pain.
In Eastern medicine, it is believed before ailments manifest physically, they are in our energetic field. Often during deep relaxation therapy, energy that we have been unconsciously holding back can be released. If we hold negative energy for too long, such as stress or trauma, inflammation can begin, and a multitude of diseases can emerge.
HEALTHY CELL TURNOVER
Certain vibrational frequencies have been linked to damaged cell and nerve restoration, further stimulating DNA repair and detoxifying the body.
TRAUMA HEALING
Certain sound therapies shift focus on the removal of negative energy and emotional blockage, particularly those that stem from past trauma and PTSD.
CALMING THE NERVOUS SYSTEM
Studies have linked sound therapy to lower blood pressure and cholesterol, restoring standard vibrational frequencies to the body. This in turn helps increase circulation, reduce inflammation, and can prevent related health risks.
